Prior to your pet’s procedure:

  • A consultation with physical examination is required prior to any procedure at Crown. Unless previously performed, prior to your pet’s procedure, our team will review your pet’s medical record including all medical history, lab work, and radiographic imagines (if applicable).

Preparing for your pet’s procedure:

  • At your pet’s procedure check-in, we will confirm medical history and the procedure to be performed, as well as go over the provided estimates with you. At time of drop off, a deposit of the low end of your estimate is required.
  • Most pets will require a softened food after their surgical procedure. We recommend that you purchase some prior to your pet’s return home.
  • Ensure your pet has any / all medications dispensed by either your primary care veterinarian and your veterinary dentist.

Fasting Instructions:

  • Water does not need to be restricted overnight. Please remove water in the morning if your pet has an early admit time.
  • Food should be removed after 10pm so that your pet can fast appropriately.
  • Please bring your pet’s normal diet with you to their procedure.
  • Pets with chronic illnesses, young, and/or small patients may have different fasting instructions. Please follow these as directed by your CROWN veterinary dentist.

Medication Instructions:

  • Your veterinarian may have dispensed medications to give the night before and morning of procedure. It is ok to give these medications in a small amount of food for ease of administration.
